Germany is the first recipient of Spanish fruit and vegetable products

Germany remains the second destination of Spanish agri-food exports in the first seven months of the year , behind France, and the first recipient of the product as fruit, vegetables and wine . Total sales for the German market sector through July totaled 2697.9 million euros, representing an increase of 14% over the same period in 2012 . Fruits and vegetables totaled 1.821 million euros from January to July 2013, at 17.09 %, and the wines stood at 220 million euros, an increase of 15.6 %.

Within the horticultural sector , highlights the export of fresh legumes and vegetables which stood at 708.8 million euros , 18.5 % more than in the previous period , fresh fruits with 475.7 million euros and 11 , 5 % increase , and citrus which stood at 424.6 million euros , an increase of 23.9%.

Stresses as a trend in the German food market growing interest in organic food so that their consumption has increased markedly in recent years. According to a market study prepared by the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Düseldorf , in Germany one can speak of a boom of biological products , country where fruits and vegetables account for 26.7 % of sales of food products .
